Just wondering whats the equivalent in price of a gaming PC that matches series X.

Considering a new PC but thinking of just keeping my GTX 970, i7 4770 and going with the console and using the PC for day to day and older games

    Any thoughts?

    CPU: Ryzen 7-3700X
GPU: Somewhere between Radeon RX 6800 - RX 6700 (but drastically lower clock speeds)
    SSD: Custom 1Tb NVMe
    RAM: 16Gb

For the next 1-2 years, you won't be able to build an equivalent PC for cheaper; hell for the next 3-4 months, you will struggle to even find a high-end GPU.

On the flipside, on Xbox you're limited to Microsoft's control inputs & pricing.

If you're targeting TV like displays then console all the way IMHO. If you're looking for high FPS 1440p, Ultrawide or VR then PC.

It also depends on games. AAA shooters, again console is grand. The likes of Microsoft Flight Simulator, Total War games or Grand strategy like Stellaris - PC.

you would be looking at 2.5x/3x the price of a console and probably waiting 3 months to build it

If an xbox is an option and you can get one - it's probably the wise choice until the dust settles

Think ill go for console as using a 4k tv, thanks folks, you've made up my mind.

Gtx 970 and i7-4770 seems still to be okay for a lot of games I play. Latest game I played was bioshock infinite and was grand at 4k resolution
