    Hi all

My 14 year old PC gamer (Minecraft, a bit of Apex Legends, whadyacall it everyone plays) and video editing son is keen to get a monitor upgrade.

Previously we used an actual TV, then switched to a (loaned) 24.5 inch monitor which he much preferred to the TV. The size (c. 24 inch) works with the desk.

I've no idea what to get so am purely choosing based on budget - c. €250 is what would seem to be mid range. This is on the short list at the moment: HP OMEN Full HD 24.5 Inch 144 Hz 1 ms Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync (1 DP, 2 HDMI) - Black from Amazon. €263.96.

It's a bit on the dear side for what's essentially a stab in the dark, so if anyone has any suggestions about a better one for the same price, or a just-as-good equivalent for cheaper please advise!

We bought a good few of the original PC parts from CCL online, so would be happier to buy from them, or from an Irish retailer if possible, but Amazon will do if no other option.

    Thanks in advance for suggestions.
