Why can't I log out of my Gmail on my android phone?

    Currently have 3 Gmail accounts linked to my phone. I'm trying to keep one open and close the others. Failing to close any. Keep getting sent to "manage my accounts" and I can't get past that. I would like to be able to use Google without others seeing all my searches. Not v helpful when trying to research Xmas presents etc.

    Are you using the gmail app, or gmail in browser?
