Dunnes staff dress code

So I’ve to start tomorrow & the black shirt and slacks I ordered online still haven’t arrived (thanks covid!) so I’m probably a bit screwed. Or am I?

I DO have black hoodies, tshirts and jog pants I think their called? Anyway, if I just wear those and explain to whoever in management meets me tomorrow for induction what happened will I be sent packing immediately or am I likely fine?

Haven’t really been offered any jobs in the past never got beyond interview so not sure what to expect. Might just be over anxious. Cheers for any helps guys.

Also job is sales assistant not in the Deli so as I understand they don’t provide uniforms except for the deli counter.

I'd avoid the hoody. T shirt grand if it's plain black. Not sure about jog pants? Probably not suitable for work. Anyone I see in Dunnes is dressed well. Did you not ring and ask before your starting day about this? I think you should ring and ask someone tonight. Just saw it's induction so you might be ok. I'd still ring though.

Borrow a pair of black trousers and a top/blouse from someone.
When your in dunnes tomorrow, buy some for yourself.
Good luck in your new job :)

Ring and ask. They might have a few spares in case of spills/accidents staff might have.
    Good luck btw

If they have a drapery department I'm sure they'll sell you trousers and a shirt if you explain the situation.

Dunnes are strict on dress code , it’s been years since I worked there but they always were strict. Borrow for a few days if you can. Best of luck

Do NOT wear a joggers to a job it gives a terrible impression. Borrow a pair of slacks, even chinos would be far better

Ya, they're very strict. I remember when I worked there many years ago there was a certain manager who would stand at the clock in machine handing out cheap BIC razors to lads who he thought could do with a shave. He'd send them up to the staff toilets with the razor. They also made staff cover up piercings with a plaster. I thought the plasters looked worse than the piercings (not that I thought the piercings looked bad).

How did you get on op?

I guess someone was looking down on me, because my induction was pushed back a bit due to head office overbooking the store for training! They’re due to train a ton of new folks (expecting a ridiculous surge in shoppers come December) so they’ve taken on a ton of folks.
