Debt recovery questions

    Hi,

I am looking to recover a personal debt of around 6k € from an investment company that despite of many follow ups over the past few weeks still hasn't made the payment. I tried to contact a few solicitors via email (around 15) and only 2 of them have answered so far, both with very high fee (ie. 400€ to send a demand letter to start with). I just have a couple of questions:

    - Is there any particular reason why many solicitors decline to take up this case? Is it because the amount is too small?
    - What is a reasonable price for a first demand letter? Is 400€ the standard?
    - Is there any other way I could go to recover my money that you could suggest?

    Thank you for your help.
