Local Needs with Meath COCO

Im going to be submittin a planning application for a new house on lands my father (farmer) owns in the next few weeks.
Im gathering together documents for proof of local needs, so far I have bank statements, credit union statements, car insurance letters and eflow statements. Is there any other that i should be giving them?

Another query I had is about the bank statements. Do I "black" out sections of it or do I just give them the way they are?

Im 25 now but was in college for 4 years, which I lived on campus for (home at weekends). Would the planner likely reject this due to it? For example on bank statements, it clearly shows I purchased bus tickets on every Sunday and Friday, and also mentions the college as I used to buy food and stationary within the college.

I cant comment specifically about Meath CoCo but you would normally have to show that you have roots in the area and not just proof of where you currently reside so the likes of birth / baptismal certs and school records would be required. You should be able to redact all financial records from your bank / CU statements leaving proof of your current address at the top.

Your agent / architect should be able to advise you better.

Hi, strange you are asked for bank statement and so on? I competed a local needs application recently and nothing like that was required. Proof of local school attendance, proof of family owning the land, parents marriage cert and a few other bits like that.

Its not so much a specific bank statement as a proof of address which can be a bank statement or utility bill etc.. if you want to provide a redacted bank statement thats no problem.

no, planners are not going to go through your spend that detailed.

youre best to redact anything you dont want to show anyway

all the planners want to see is your address and the date... in order to shown that you lived at your address for the appropriate period of time.

the last application i submitted had the following:
birth cert (shows address at time of birth)
primary school letter(shows address for the duration of primary school)
secondary school letter (shows address during secondary school years)
4 bank statements (shows address at different periods, 2 years apart, so 8 years in total)

therefore my client was able to show that she lived in the locality, at her parents address from birth to her late 20's

thats the level of information a planner needs in order for an applicant to prove they lived in the locality for the requisite period of time.

Would also help if you're involved with a local sports/tidy town group.
