N7 South Bound Black Church Traffic Jam this mornings

    Had to spin into Dublin early this morning and was travelling back out just after 9am.

    Very slow traffic on N7 approaching the garda checkpoint, but only on the outside lane :P where the checkpoint doesn't operate.

    So I used lane 1 :D and wasn't even checked :D (laois reg) and probably got ahead of 50 vehicles.

    Basically this checkpoint is a running joke with most cars using lane 2 to avoid being stopped. Even the gardai are laughing at it.

    Jaysus, did youse get up on the wrong side of the bed today.

    Its after hours - its a light hearted comment about the ridiculousness of the permanent checkpoint - all drivers know to keep right so much so that the right lane has the delays.

    The gardai just look on in amusement whilst collecting their overtime.

    Lighten up - life can be fun

    Exactly. It doesn't get much better than being slightly less delayed than other people in a traffic jam. I'd probably have to have a lie down after that.

    yep, and that was the jist of the post.

    Basically its a waste of time and resources and achieves absolutely nothing

    Plenty been caught without Tax, insurance or NCT.
