Online. Standard acrylic plates. Eireplates seem a bit pricey these days.

    Looking for an online vendor.

I recently went through this very problem. I always used online for previous bikes and cars but they had become too expensive. I used local motor factors and paid €20 for a set of car plates and €12 for a bike plate.

I bought mine from parts 4 cars in Blanchardstown for less than online. €10 each I think.

Motorfactor I found is cheapest. Probably because online plates it will cost them 7 euros for delivery anyway

Bought from xxx.ie last night as I'm under pressure (import) but can't get out for a few days. Hopefully they won't get stuck in An Post's black hole of death.

EDIT: Removing the vendor for the moment just in case people think I'm a shill! :)

I used eireplates would recommend them anyway

I've used them myself in the past but they're €36.95 for a pair of plates now, plus shipping at €6.45 for a total of €43.40. Most other vendors that I could find are €25, and shipping was free with the one I used. So Eireplates is a 73.6% premium over them. I don't mind paying for quality, up to a limit, but my limit comes way before that!

Of course my plates may never arrive, or they could be all bubbly and rubbish, in which case I'll end up paying a premium anyway on another set. Hopefully not!

I've removed the vendor name from my post above as reading back over the thread I look remarkably like a shill. :)

Out of curiosity, what courier do they use?

Not sure sorry but the replacement came and are perfect. All our local couriers are good though here anyway. I'd say the first ones just took a bad fall off the top of a stack of boxes or something which could happen to anyone of them

I ordered plates for my recent import from irish numberplates.ie on Sunday last. They posted from galway and my postman in kildare handed them to me on Wednesday morning. I assume they were made and posted on Monday. €29 all in for two plus screws and sticky pads. Can't fault the service and a little cheaper than others.

I'd second irishnumberplates.ie. Reasonable enough pricing and very quick delivery.

Not questioning the OPs desire to buy online, but, about 15 years ago a law was supposed to be coming in where people couldn't buy number plates without producing reg docs & identification. Anyone remember that?

To stop criminals making copies for dubious purposes :)

I’ve stopped buying plates online. Go to your local motor factors and you’ll get them for half the price

Used them too in the past but way to expensive compared to the rest.
