Should I throw a dead animal in the septic tank?

I had been told in the past that I should throw a dead cat in the septic tank. I assumed it was a joke at the time and where would you get a dead cat anyway. I recently had the tank emptied and it was suggested again that I throw a dead animal in there to help with bacteria. Google seems to have conflicting views on…

no, why not just do it the modern way and put in a septic tank treatment with known quantity of the right bacteria .

should be able to pick up in any agricultural providers.
