Least depreciated used cars

    Hi,

Having been Passat owner. I’m looking at a similar style 2016 car.

I’m hoping on importing from uk and I do love the look of the VW CC but it seems to depreciate quite a bit and am now looking at A4 to bring in.

Reason I’m hoping to buy is that a couple of years down the line I would look to change and hopefully not lose too much.

So you think this is a decent perspective or should I look at other models.

There some nice C class around maybe a c 220 or 250. Maybe they hold better value even with relatively high mileage 100- 120 k miles with decent service history.

    Thanks for thoughts.

If you want to protect against depreciation, spend less now.
If you were buying a new car then fair enough, but spending €4k more so that the car might be worth €2k more as a 7/8 year old car makes no sense.

The CC has been around since 2008 and the youngest ones are now approaching 5 years old, that and cheap ones from the UK result in natural steep depreciation. The C Class is no different when you look back at what they actually cost when brand new. I'm not sure what sort of depreciation protection you are expecting OP because all cars depreciate especially as they get old and are replaced by a newer model. Cheaper UK prices have also undermined resale values here as that is what they are competing with. If you want to go some way to minimize depreciation then buy a car and keep it until it dies, changing cars in a couple of years will always cost you more money.
