heating excess to a different zone

We have a stove with boiler. The central heating is split into two zones, day rooms and bedrooms.
When the stove heats the water fully, the bedrooms zone gets the excess.
Is there any way I could get the second day room to get some of this excess heat without a lot of work?

Are you sure it's just zone 1 that's getting the heat?
A good stove setup would be heat the tank, tank hot pump out to the rad in all zones, kind of a safety thing also in case any one zone overheats.
If the stove is on a while do any rads downstairs warm?
It also would be trickier just to specify one room downstairs to get heat as opposed to the whole zone

Best advice to ring a plumber who can quote for any work required

Does this happen even if the thermostat on the second zone is calling for heat?

The thermostat for the day room doesn't activate.
If it did then the traitors in the room with stove would come on too. As the thermostat is in hallway the radiators in the room with stove would come on too.

Then you could put a TRV on the rad in the stove room and leave the hall stat calling for heat.

There would need to be something in the controls I set to turn on the day rooms zone thermostat? The hall start doesn't call for heat currently only the bed rooms stat.

The stove heats the tank. When the tank reaches a preset temperature the excess heat is pumped around zone 2 - bedrooms.
Zone 1, day rooms does not get switched on.

There is something in the controls which only switches on zone 2 when the tank temp is reached.

But if zone 1 stat is turned up and excess heat is getting pumped around zone 2, does zone 1 not heat too?

No - only zone 2 (bedrooms) switch on.

Ok. Most likely wired conventionally with a variation for excess heat. Also likely that everything is connected in the hot press, if so an electrician would have no trouble doing what you need.
