Amazon warranty and EU law

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any insight into the compatibility of Amazon's 1-year warranty policy with European Law?

I bough a Fire HD ~15 months ago and the screen has developed a fault. I had thought EU law specified a minimum 2-year guarantee against faults for electrical goods.

    e.g. https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/dealing-with-customers/consumer-contracts-guarantees/consumer-guarantees/index_en.htm

However, from my chats with Amazon customer service they are adamant that they will not consider repairing/replacing this item.
