    Hi all,

I brush my teeth 3 times daily and use mouth wash, interdental brushes now and again. Went for a clean recently and dentist was shocked by how much of a clean i needed after only one year. Main culprit must be tea and coffee but should it really cause this much staining? I brush in the morning after coffee and then have one cup of tea at lunch time and brush again after dinner and before going to bed.

I'm wondering would it be better to brush teeth before the coffee in the morning. Would this make a different or should i go for a more abrasive toothpaste? I do notice the staining building up behind my teeth pretty quickly but i am brushing for 3 minutes and don't understand it.

Maybe i'm just pone to staining more than others.

Any recommendations to help prevent the staining would be helpful (apart from giving up the coffee and tea :) )
    Thanks

Toothbrushing only cleans 60% of your tooth surface.
You need to be flossing &/using interdental brushes daily to target the other 40%.

Plaque disclosing tablets are an excellent aid.

The majority of patients would need to see a hygienist once every 6months for maintenance.

Thanks, I guess I need to start going twice per year. I use TePe because I hate flossing. I was hoping a more abrasive toothpaste might help with stains. Using electric toothbrush too which thought would be better.
