from my understanding as I recently purchased an a3 second hand if it says contact audi the sat nav was never activated This has to be done by an Audi dealer and it is roughly 800 euro which includes an Audi as card with maps on it My car was looking for media and to purchase this it is almost 400 euro from audi dealer as the system MMI r required an Audi sanction sd card Luckily for me the dealer that I purchased my car from got one from another car in his showroom However the first sd card wouldn't work but the next would as it was configured for a different model. My sat nav could see the satellites and was looking for media which is different than the message you are seeing

If it doesn't have access to live traffic just buy a phone mount and 12V charger. Car manufacturers GPS is usually useless due to out of date maps and astronomical prices for updates.

Yep have a 161 A6 and the sat nav is impossible to use, Google maps FTW..
