Small Ceiling Roses

Putting in a new ceiling which will have simple pendant lamps installed on a plaster ceiling rose.
For some reason, all the pendant lights I can find have massive 120mm+ diameter roses on the lights, which are too large for the plaster roses which have a 70mm flat section on them. Looking at existing lights around the place, they're all way smaller than new ones are.
Does anyone know why this is, and where I can find pendant lights with smaller ceiling roses?
