Possible to transfer MOT to CVRT?

In the process of buying a 2018 van from the UK. First MOT is not required until 24/04/2021, so 6months remaining. Once VRT is paid, can the 6months MOT be transferred, or do I need to bring the van to get a new CVRT? I think Irish vans need testing every year from new?

Should have mentioned in original post, the van is 2018, its first MOT in the UK is not due until 24/04/2021.
Therefore there is to no old MOT cert to show RSA

Does the van need to be taxed before testing or does it need to be tested before taxing, do you know?

Needs to be tested before taxing I think.
Test is due once the van is a year old.
