    Hello

I may need to setup an Irish company soon for some work being done here. Just trying to get a handle on the baseline costs, outside of accountants fees.

For example, what do I need to know? What are the formation fees and then the annual filing fees for things like returns and confirmation statement and anything else required in Ireland?

    Thanks

Just Google "company formations" and you'll find a lot of companies offering formation services here. They vary a little but would mostly all be between €200 - €300 to set up the company. One I just looked at was €195+VAT.

CRO filing fees are €20 per annual return. ( that's just the CRO fee, any accountancy charges for preparation of accounts/returns would be separate )

You'd need to check with an accountant as to what you expect them to do and what their charges might be for that.
Some people get everything done others do all bookkeeping and then just have year end filings done.

    Ok cool. Thanks.

Follow up question I forgot to ask.

How long does it take to form the company so that I use the name/number in a contract?

Is it quicker to get a shelf company?

I might need it within 24 hours notice. Over the next business day or two.

Not sure on current formation times with the CRO. Haven't had one this year and maybe Covid has affected times. Historically form scratch you'd have a certificate of incorporation in a couple of weeks. Taking a ready formed company and changing shareholder/directors may be faster. If speed is important then I suggest contacting one of the formation houses for a timescale on each option.

Also remember after formation there will be Revenue registration for CT and maybe VAT / Employers registration etc. and that can't be done until you have a CRO number. SO need allow for that.

I had looked on Google, but the reason I asked was for the statutory costs (registration + filing). As it's not usually clear on the formation websites. They tend to include their value added upsell costs too.

It is currently taking about 7- 10 days to get a company live at the moment. If you need a shelf company send me a pm and I can put you in the right direction
