Unable to return to work - Maternity

    Hi all,

My spouse is due to finish her maternity leave next month. She is receiving €245 maternity benefit from government and nothing from her employer.

She has a permanent job (worked 6 years) but prefers to look after our baby and resign from her job. In this case, will she be penalised i.e. returning full or part of her maternity benefit?

    Thank you

Nope. If she takes the 13 weeks unpaid from her employer she will accrue a weeks holiday pay there.
