Civil Service Promotion Pay Scale Query

    Hi

    I hope someone can help me as I cannot make sense of any circulars i've found.

    I am due to be promoted to EO soon and am currently on the 29k payscale for CO but in 6 months i will move to the 30k scale for CO.

    Will i be on the 30k starting EO standard for 1 year? or is there a system set up that i may jump up an incrementon the EO scale.

    I believe the conditions set out in circular 08/2019 would apply. Specifically point 1.2 (iv). You might start at point 2 on the EO scale.
    You can Google it there 'revised arrangements applying to starting pay' to have a look.

    It looks to me like you'll start on point 2 of the EO scale.

    From the circular mentioned by MrsBean:
    Where the minimum of the new salary scale is greater than existing pay by an amount less than the first increment on the new scale, the officer may enter the new scale at the minimum plus one increment.

    Minimum of the new salary scale = point 1 on EO scale = €30,884
    Existing pay = €29,751
    Difference = €1,131

    First increment on the new scale = point 2 on EO scale = €32,677 - €30,884 = €1,793
