Is it a big job to get a neutral wirte put in for some 3 gang switches? They would have multiple lights on one of the switches. An example being the outside lights around the house and the kitchen down lighters (6 of).

The ultimate goal is smart switches like the Sonoff ones.

Depends on the type of house you have. In a bungalow it's relatively easy. Upstairs in a 2 storey would be relatively easy too. Downstairs in a 2 storey would be a lot of hassle.

There is a version of Sonoff switches that does not require a neutral.
