Flight Changed By Airline

My gf and I have flights booked for Xmas. We are going to her parents in Bulgaria in the middle of December and then onto Ireland from Sweden (we live in Sweden) on the 23rd of December.

We were meant to arrive back from Bulgaria on the 21st of December, pick up our dog from our friends and fly to Ireland on the 23rd. The flight on 23rd to Ireland has been been moved to the late afternoon on the 21st, which means we cannot make the flight to Ireland.

The flight on the 23rd is no longer available either. Who pays for the change in the Bulgarian flight, us or the airline that changed our time?

**All the above is Covid dependent and we will be having Covid tests at all destinations before flying***

You are not saying who you are flying with. If it is Ryanair or Aer Lingus, they both allow free change of flight and you would only pay the change in fare if there is one. Other airlines likely have something similar. Best is to contact your airline or try changing online first.

If its all a single ticket the airline will have to sort it out

Otherwise if it is two tickets you can claim a refund on the one altered but the first ticket is not the airlines problem.
