Building Materials not as described and cost of repair

    Hi folks,

I've purchased materials for use on a home renovation which wasn't as described. The manufacturer let the retailer down, but that's not really our concern.

This only became apparent midway through installation. We'll have to spend time (and money) to take the product down, repair the area, and start again.

The company are happy enough to take the product back, but so far they don't want to know about the labour and repair costs we've incurred due to the product not being as described.

Grateful for some objective views as to whether it's reasonable to expect that these costs would be reimbursed, and if so is there an area of consumer law we should be referring to?
