Does anyone know the standard of welding required for a cosmetic repair to a sill. Specifically does it need to be seam welded or is a series of plug welds OK?

On a sill it will need to be a complete weld which on metal that thin will be alot of individual spot welds that eventually join up to make a complete continuous weld.
