Cars, vans, 4x4s left idling on forecourts

Must be a rural village/town thing. I was waiting at a petrol station and it was a case of get out leave it idling. One fella didn’t even close the drivers door. Perhaps crime is low non existent as such but ones insurance would cover theft in those situations.
