Betvictor have closed my account

    Hi guys,

Wondering if I can get some help on this. I set up a betvictor account 2 days ago and managed to get winnings up to 100€. I also placed a 50€ treble which has just come in today ( worth 300€).

They asked for me to verify my account however after I had set the account up. I had no problem uploading my proof of address but they would not accept my passport despite the fact it was a clear photograph. I tried multiple versions (photos which I had used before for other accounts) and their system would not accept.

I have been through their live support for hours and have also tried to email them with my verification documents. I had yet to receive a response back until this morning where I have learned that they had closed my account. I received this email -

“In response to our recent enquiries regarding your BetVictor account, we would like to advise you that your account with us has been permanently closed following our investigation into your activities on our site.

BetVictor reserves the right to suspend or close your account at any time where there is an unacceptable use of our services which is covered by Section 17 of our Terms and Conditions. “

At present I should have over 400€ in my account but I have not been able to get through to anyone at betvictor.

I am wondering if you have any advice as to how I should proceed. I have images and proof of my correspondence and of the bets and money in my account. There is no problem with my passport but there system will not accept.

    Thanks.

Bookies are cheating toads...they don't want people like you taking money from them

Put in a GDPR request for all personal data they have on file and ask for a full explanation.

There is some utterly bizzare loophole in irish law that incredibly means they don’t have to pay out. I’d go with the GDPR request and read
their section 15 and then tell
them you want your winnings or you will be on to Joe Duffy in the morning. They all hate bad publicity. Joe is good at that!

Not just Irish law re recovery of gambling debts.

The only thing that I could see their being an issue with is if you had a previous account with them, using the same card perhaps. Maybe you had opted out of the site previously.

Its sharp practice in general, and couldnt support the bookies in doing this given that they dont do KYC protocols if you use. I dont think the 400 quid is enough for them to be doing this for no reason.

The GDPR request sounds reasonable if there is no other comeback.

There is nothing you can do, just put it down to experience. I'm sure somewhere in the terms and conditions it says something like 'account must be verified before winnings can be collected.' I specifically remember seeing this going way back when I opened a matchbook account. Just put it down to experience and move on I reckon. You wouldn't know what they think. They could think you're a part of a syndicate or a winning punter under a new alias. They won't budge.

Like the thing is I have the screenshots and proof of emails sent to betvictor attempting to verify the account. It’s so unfair. Like they had no problems taking my deposits off me ? I’m hoping if I complain enough they might budge

No I have not. Only have had a bet 365 account before.

The fact that you only signed up and have a return of 800% probably got a few alarm bells going back at HQ.

These sites are constantly monitoring young jockeys with serious info chancing their arm, they are not in the business of losing money.

    Try harder next time.

Try harder? 😂😂... I am also no jockey and had no info. What’s the point in setting up a gambling site if you can’t afford to pay out winners. They were more than happy to take any losses off me.

    Keep it up.

    You said you didn't lose?

You are starting to sound as smart as some off those jockeys now.

Op , what was the name of those winners , the treble especially?

Great to a treble up handy like that.

    What was it ?

Jesus I was only looking for advice. You are sounding like such a smart arse.

I am no jockey. Of course I lost money. You have your initial deposits. They let me deposit over the course of the two days.

I was just hoping you could share your selections?

I mean an 800% return is enviable.

    What were your winners?

    Hint of sarcasm I suspect?

No reason to be acting like this. If you really want to know, I got lucky and had a couple of small winners that got me up to 150€. I then placed a 50€ Football treble where all three selections won. If you also want to know, I had many losing bets also.

Just looking for advice. No need to be taking the mick. I’m sure there’s other forums for that.

It is a simple question, no one is taking the " mick " here.

You never mentioned soccer punts either.

Why don't you send us a list of your bets, as you were only on the site 2 days it cannot have been that many bets surely?

Paddypower done the same to me, ignored me for over a month till I left a lovely comment on their app on the playstore. They paid me a couple of hours after that. It was only 110 but I was still fuming.

That’s a good idea. It’s on my list if they don’t reply today! Cheers

Don't forget to post your treble as well, it will help give your story an element of authenticity. It helps.

William hill closed me down a few weeks ago. I was on their live chat for a couple of hours and they paid me out the balance on my account. If ya don't get joy at first ask to talk to someone higher. Pester them if ya have the time. Try to be polite usually works IMO.

Jesus what’s your problem? OP seems genuine enough in fairness, why are you trying to be the big smart man? Give it a rest, you’re only living up to your name.

Sounds like the account was closed because they expect you were not playing fair (looking for wrong prices, jumping on mistakes etc and they would have profiled you as a bad customer not necessarily a winning one, too many people assume these are the same when in fact they are not). My guess is that is why your account was closed, not because of the struggle with verification. In terms of what you can do, if you were playing honestly advise their Cs that you'll take to ibas should they not play ball, go to ibas if they refuse. Tbh no point going to ibas if you were jumping on mistakes as ibas will take their side as rules will have them covered

Cheers. Yes they eventually got back to me today and I was given the exact same email as I originally received re account closed.. please read our complaints procedure etc. I’ve emailed their department manager so hopefully I will get somewhere. Also looked on Twitter and it appears that a couple of other customers seemed to have had similar problems. Classic online bookmakers, happy to take thousands off young kids who have gambling problems.
