Where to start with retrofit?

I'm currently planning a home renovation which will require rewiring and moving walls. Looking to take the opportunity to prewire for an alarm. Is this something that an electrician can take on or should I approach an alarm installer? Pretty much a noob in this area but have done some research

Good plan, usually electricians do the wiring for alarm systems. Having said that though, I always think that the more experienced alarm installer will know exactly where all the detectors should be best placed.

Speak to your electrician first, maybe they sub out the alarm wiring to a specialist.
