The 0.5 bar pressure you quote is the water pressure within the system.
Normal is between 1 and 2.5
This pressure is not set at the boiler, it is set by allowing more water into the closed system. This is probably done in your hot press, there will be a tap which is turned off, turn it on for a while, maybe 15 seconds to allow more water into the system.

Thanks for reply. I think I tried this before. There's 3 red valves in hotpress which didn't seem to do anything. Maybe there's another that I'm not seeing. Will have a look again.

There may be something like this in the hotpress.

Nope, nothing like that. Just 3 red valves. 2 are closed and 1 is open. I will try again tomorrow and see if they do anything to water pressure but don't think they did in the past. The heating works fine thankfully but i was wondering would be work more efficiently if water pressure was above 0.5.

There might be a filling loop in the hot press with one or two taps. Mine has a black tap at the top of it and then a screw type thing at the bottom that you have to turn to let the water flow. You have to put both in the open position to top up the water.

Or you may have a semi sealed system which uses a small (feed&expansion) tank in the attic which will have a non return valve in the cold feed or perhaps nothing. If the boiler pressure stays at 0.5 bar with a hot system then you may have the latter.

Thanks all, i'll have a look tomorrow.. To be honest, i moved in 2 years ago and it's always been at 0.5. Maybe there's no issue because heating works fine. I even had it serviced and it wasn't mentioned. Probably should have asked about it though.
