Would not recommend doing the Shake N Bake at any time during the test. ;)

I did it out there, managed to get a pass first time out.

Woman tester, there was no nonsense or pleasantries. She put on her sunglasses in the passenger seat and was very direct with her instructions. In hindsight thats much better as it kept me alert and I avoided falling into a comfort zone and maybe getting careless.

We drove around Salthill and the Claddagh, if I remember correctly the first place we went from the test center was down the Rahoon/Shantalla Road and then onto Dominic Street, its gets very narrow there particularly if there's oncoming traffic - so may be worth your time practising down there.

    Perfect, thanks.

I will head down that route for a few spins.

Can I ask what sort of theory questions were you asked?

Need to freshen up on this again! Dont wanna read the whole book again if I can

It was only as I was writing my first post I realised my test was eight years ago, I'm afraid I can't remember the questions. Hopefully someone else can help you out there.

Questions were to do with when you'd use dipped headlights, the yellow box, what does white line mean , who do you give right off way on Roundabout, describe a Zebra Crossing

For the technical they asked me about where Brake Fluid and how to check Oil
For secondary they asked about how I'd use the front and back window washer liquid, the demisters for front and back, how to use full lights and rear fog lights

They got out of the car for the reverse around the corner

I've the map of the route I took when I did it few weeks ago attached, did the roundabout at the hospital twice, went up through Newcastle and left towards Clifden and then left down Circular Road. Went down towards Shantalla but turned left to go backup by Aldi and looped back around McKenna Rd and back into Test Center - was over before I knew it

I will say the place i did the turnabout looks much steeper than it is, I got flustered as thought I'd need to do Hillstart but you are actually sound with just clutch control doing it so just treat it like normal if you are doing it there

Tester was very fair, put me at ease - I deservedly failed though as I was swan necking all over the gaff on the day ha

I was meant to have a test last week but they rescheduled it for 3 weeks
    Best off luck
