Oiled vs laquered floor

New build, ground floor will be 12mm laminate in herringbone pattern, but for the first and second floors (4 bedrooms), we are thinking about engineered wood. We’re a bit scared of oiled floors, as it seems necessary to re-oil regularly. We are moving more towards a laquered floor option. Any ideas or advice? Are we right in doing so?
