Good thread here from a guy who bought one and made it pretty: https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057533779

I was going to buy one but it seems the happiest Bongo owners are people who can do little bits to it themselves. They need bits done to them being 25 or so years old, would be expensive if you know nothing about them.

MPG or Ltr to the 100 is kind of terrible as far as I know, I've a hiace automatic camper and love it but it's similar 22 mpg 11 to 12 ltr to the 100 or 55ltr tank gets you 500 km max. But it's a great bus and I'd never sell it.

Amen to that my car is in getting the ABS pump rebuild, it'll cost 600 euros by the time it's done, the way I drive I hardly wear the breaks yet alone need ABS do it's died from lack of use

My ABS is manual. I learned how after making a D-shaped tyre.
I might fit the proper job on the "parts car" (a more diplomatic title than the project rally legend of questionable chassis integrity).

As below, I've a big long thread on mine, any specific questions you have feel free to ask.

The main thing is they're heavy on fuel and there are a few things to look out for when buying in terms of the cooling system and areas prone to rust. Lastly, it's only really a weekender van due to the size, any longer than than that and you'll want to be staying in serviced campsites.

Has anyone had difficulty in registering their Bongo from the UK? The VRT guys are looking for a weight plate and I can't locate on on the vehicle. All information on the web relates to towing weight.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,

Can't help you with the VRT guys but the gross weight should be 2,260kg:

    https://www.allansvehicleservices.co.uk/app/download/6463581/Mazda+Bongo+2.5+Technical+Specification.pdf

There's a VIN lookup on this website but I don't think it includes weights: http://mazda.epcdata.ru/bongo_friendee/ajra05/?frame_no=SGL5-109102&ref=

For the CVRT, I have been using this document for the last 4 or 5 years, which is uploaded onto the vehicles online records

Can you get it weighted? Somewhere like murphy trucks in ballymount might be able to do it. Or any large truck center that does DOE's

Some agri places do it too
