Glad to see cross compliance is down as a essential service.

There's a fella down here getting an inspection tomorrow. He'd be one of the biggest operators in the country. I wouldn't wish it in my worst enemy.

It is always essential to get the priorities right.
That's what happens when idiots are in charge.

The BP payment is most likely on hold on these farms until the inspection is finalised....should the payment be considered essential?

Just wondering if you were waiting on payment, would you rather that these inspections continue rather than building up a backlog?

This lockdown has people believing they are essential. Local flower shop can stay open if they sell fruit!!!!

Thankfully I'm in a position where it doesn't matter to me what time the payment comes in due to my off farm employment. I took over the herd number this year after it being in a partnership so I fully expect not to receive a payment until May 21 exactly like the time we formed the partnership.

What I expect is for the Department to show a bit of cop on and compassion in these times. I haven't left the house/farm in 6 weeks due to the virus but an inspector from the Department can call with 48hrs notice and land at my gate having been god knows where in the past two weeks. My parents are in their late 70s any lad that turns up here is ran at the minute and I'd do the same with a Department inspector.

Refusing an inspection, could mean you never see the BPS again.

Your presence is probably not necessary for the inspection. I am sure they have the cop on not to be going near a house and any records or documents can be posted to them or left in the yard.

Had a glas inspection last week and the inspector was sound in that regard. She gave me both options of being present or not, which suited me as we were flat out sowing so all communication was by phone during the inspection No paperwork on the day, all forwarded within 10 days.

Inspections didn't stop at any stage during Covid lockdown.
For 90% of the inspection, there is no need to go near the inspector as they tramp around the mearns, etc.
For the rest of it they will do most of the data entry etc sitting in their car, completely away from you and talk on the mobile.
