    Hi there,

If a young trained farmer owns 100% of the share capital of a limited company and purchases land through that company, can he claim an exemption from stamp duty if he personally satisfies the conditions of being a young trained farmer?

Thanks, was thinking that was the answer alright but can't find a definitive answer in the tax manuals. Have you come across it in practice? I know some of the tax reliefs/allowances seem to make concessions to allow limited company's avail of them while others don't.

That relief is specific to the person ie having a green cert or being of a certain age. By definition a company can’t avail of it as a company can’t have these
