How has this service deteriorated so bad in the last couple of weeks.

Station is closed because of leafs on the tracks, really??

    could you elaborate further?
how long has the station been closed for? is it just today? is it for the whole day or was it just for part of it? or was it just some services canceled?

while it may seem laughable that leaves on the tracks can be an issue, believe it or not they can be a serious problem for trains, when the train passes over them it crushes them essentially into greece which make the tracks slippery meaning the train can potentially slide along which could be potentially dangerous as for example, it may not be able to stop.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

I believe it's Glasnevin Junction to Docklands that's been out and indeed out for days due to low rail adhesion.

I just realised I actually have to use this service tomorrow as I'm dropping the car in for a service (essential worker as per the specs from March and now)... nothing on the website about the closure continuing so hopefully they've cleared up and sandited the bollox out of the track overnight.

The Wednesday to Friday closure last week is on the site but with zero explanation as to why - https://www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/news/docklands-station-closed

    That old chestnut...

The failure to communicate non DART reductions related to CC resignilling project was the problem and a hint of an over optomistic schdule during the testing phase.

Assuming no pandemic and the project happend during the same period there would be chaos given the carryon over the last week.

The time for this project would be December 24th-January 2nd.

It was closed for most of last week, its back to normal from Monday. The thing is, the maynooth line was working mon-fri and it's the same track until just after broombridge, so there was something stopping the m3 service from broombridge to docklands? Forget to mention they had some sort of bus transfer from clonsilla to m3.

Both the claimed reason (low rail adhesion due to leaves on the tracks between Glasnevin Junction and Docklands) and the probably real reason (resignalling works overran) were given in the posts after the one you quoted.

Can't run direct trains from M3 to Connolly for capacity issues so they just change to a shuttle. Plenty of capacity now during school holidays, even with the 3/4s of seats marked off
