Joist hangers - holes at the botttom

    Here's the joist hanger I have. There's 2 holes in the bottom. Should twist nails be used in them also?

    Thanks, I'm going to have to do that before I put them in as there'll be a plasterboard ceiling in the way.

    I'm creating an ope for an attic stair.

    ideally they would be but if your using them to put in a trimmer and can screw or nail in through the joist into the trimmer i wouldnt be too worried about them.

    Yes, just trimmers. I've got the joist hangers here so may as well use them. I can assemble the front, back and side double trimmers on the ground and pop it into place.
