I think the timing belts for 2016 Audi A4 ultras in Galway City are due to be changed at the same frequency as 2016 Audi A4 ultras in other regions.

It’s a belt. I’ve a Skoda with the same engine and got it done early, same age and mileage as what you’re looking at, just for peace of mind.

It’s not that bad from a main (Skoda in this case) dealer - around €500.

That said, the Audi advertising timing belt change for €499 and belt plus pump for €649

Front end may have to come off the car to get to the belt which partly explains the difference in price. Def get the pump at the same time.

I had same vag 2.0 TDI 150 in a 152 leon. At 120k service mentioned very slight internal rattle at cold start to garage ( main Seat/skoda dealer). After checking said probable belt tensioner. Said Seat might give goodwill towards new timing belt, as had full dealer service history.
Was chatting to head mechanic about it. He said wouldn't be to worried about belt or tensioner, but would jump at chance to get water pump done, they're not as reliable, and he said can develop subtle leaks leading to not so subtle problems!
Got it done, Seat covered 50%!
(Though maybe Audi use better quality pump than Seat/Skoda, who use identical)

I think the A4 Ultra engine is a CNH? and is (a little bit) different to the lower output engines in VW, Seat, Skoda.

    Same sort of thing though.

The belts are 210k kms, no age limit. Some Audi dealers recommend 120k kms or 5 years as a business drummer upper but the manual says 210k kms no age limit.

The Ultra was available in 150 and 190 far as I know.

Hi I’m torn between these two cars I like the both of them.does anyone have any recommendations any issues with these cars both similar in price and both 2016.any info would be helpful.

    There’s no comparison really.
The A4 is a premium car and a 2016 would be the start of the new model. The i40 is out since 2012.

The i40 has zero desirability given that they’re the default Garda car. There should be a huge price difference between the two cars.

In terms of issues, the Hyundai would definitely be the worse of the two. I’m not an Audi fan or anything, but if you can afford it the Audi is a no-brainer.

Iv read that the i40 has gearbox problems does anyone no of any Audi A4 issues?

You’d be right about clutch and gearbox problems.

I think the newer A4s are pretty good , but someone over on the motors forum had issues with EGR

I've an a6 which is a bit bigger and heavier and also more power and long term average in the car is 7 litres per 100km or 40 mpg. That's across all driving. Motorway spins intercity 200kms or so it can be sitting at around 6 litres per 100kms when I get back which is about 47mpg and that's with driving pretty hard to be honest.
I've no doubt of I stuck it at 120kmph cruise control it would beat 50mpg on a long spin.

That so bad so how do you find Audi’s never had one
