Polished Concrete v Tiles

    Hi all,

We are in the very early stages of planning a house extension which, all going according to plan, we will do in early summer 2022.

We're looking at approx 30 sqm extension which is on top of an existing approx 24sqm.

Once completed the idea is to have an open plan kitchen/diner of approx 45 - 50 Sqm that is broadly rectangular in shape.

We both love the idea of a polished concrete floor but I believe they are very expensive.

Has anybody done similar before? I'm wondering, as we will need to pour the concrete anyway, if the price differential between polished concrete (or microcrete) and tiles will be huge?

Any experience or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks all.
