    Hi all

With the upcoming black friday sales, im on the lookout for a gaming headset with a mic.
Last one was a logitech g933 which was good but has developed a loose wire somwhere inside one of the ears so it works fine then gives up on the right side till I tap it and its fine again.

I usually go wireless but i dont go wandering around the house while raiding or chatting to folks so wired is good too.
    What are folks using?
    Budget of 100 or less.

Plan to use for gaming, - Warcraft , some music and Discord chats.

    Thanks in advance.

I use hyperx cloud alpha and my mate uses hyperx cloud II's. Rock solid imo. Might be slightly better out there but you can't go wrong with them

I've both hyper x cloud and hyper x cloud revolver both are great headsets. I use the revolver on the Pc because they have 7.1 surround and better in line control my hype x where for the PS4 and found em great. If you don't need wireless I'd pick up the new hyper x cloud II they've been upgraded to 7.1 virtual and the previous version had excellent sound.

Yep have the Cloud IIs myself as I needed a wired headset for work also, can't recommend them enough. Extremely comfortable and decent sound. Haven't had any complaints about the mic at all either. The usb controller is decent too.

Just recently bought the Corsair Void Elite wireless in white (can get black) and for the money its very very good the sound is brilliant and works on my PS4 and PC. Looks very well and with no real cons for the price of the unit.

    Highly recommended at €100.

The 7.1 is completely useless. It makes all sound worse. You can't magically turn stereo sound into 7.1 anyway. Good stereo sound trumps it anyway.

Had the cloud 2's, great headphones when they can be got for half price. You should be able to get the Cloud Alpha's for around £60 in the coming weeks.

There's better headphones out there though. Looking for recommendations for something better myself.

I'll disagree with that. The G930 set I have sound great in 7.1 surround mode, which does depend on support from games. It's a wireless signal, not 3.5 mm so you aren't just breaking up stereo channels though.

    Just on this...

    Was it the left ear?

I've the same headset and had same issue. Just need to unscrew the power button and move the cable underneath

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

It's still simulated via software/internal hardware using a stereo sound source.

Imo it sounds worse in every use case. At least on the clouds. Good stereo sound works. You don't need fake 7.1 gimmicks.

I quite like it for FPS. Audiophilia << not getting knifed from behind

If I was looking for sound quality and wireless I'd probably have picked up a sony NC headset, they had some killer deals going on Prime Day and may do again for Cyber Monday. My coworker has one of their higher end NCs and my god, they are an experience. And there are of course all sorts of other more dedicated audiophile brands. But if you are going for the 7.1 gimmick, it's for games :P

Its maybe not exacly the Sony W1000 territory, but what about something like this?

As for sound quality will be a lot better than most of "gaming" headsets.

    Yeah maybe.

Can't remember if I bought or gifted my Razer Krakens but those are pretty solid for a wired set.

I have like the bottom rung NC W1000 as well, usually for @work in the Beforefore times, don't use it on the desktop bc I never installed BT in this older tower and it's NC is just alright, compared to the top end's NC (same feature should be the same on everything with the same feature reeee) which is, eh, Solitude. They usually are used on the phone/@gym.

Hi Vale Yard. I tried that and disassembled it, checked the switch box behind the power button. No change, would work if I keep toggling the power button back and forth slightly but would then switch off the left ear and the right would go nearly silent.
Pity as it's a nice headset.

While it's definitely the best setup it's usually a bit too expensive for most people.

Sometimes a good quality headset is the way to go.
