Heard of a lot of people getting windows from Poland. Yes they are cheaper, but as a previous post said, try your best to support Irish business considering the tough year they've been through.

I kinda have to put myself first when building a house though.

renovated a cottage for a son a few years ago and got windows through Poland , quality was great much better than the local supplier who was way more expensive and poor after sales service , the two large doors and one of the windows sourced locally will have to be replaced soon as the wind coming through them is unreal , the windows in my sons cottage are as good as the day we got them , the brand was Veka , a well known German company , and they arrived faster than an Irish supplier could have delivered them .

There is a lot of **** service and attitude from Irish sellers. Dont kid yourself otherwise. Especially the largest brand from down south.

    Look after yourself first....

I had one salesman from a well known Dublin brand call me after I ordered elsewhere and proceeded to berate me and my choice of windows.

I cringe when I see others buying from them.

The onus is on you to supply the right sizes.
If their wrong, you are the contractor here. If one breaks in transits, you suck up that cost.

Badly fitted, the guys will blame the frames.

there's no obligation to get ridden sideways by Irish prices.

do your research, weigh up the pros and cons re shipping guarantees etc and decide.

there's no VRT or extra Irish duties on windows coming in.

Equally there is no need to support an autocratic, right wing, anti women, anti gays, anti abortion regime, which is worse than Trump in rolling back basic human rights and has full control of the judiciary.

Not really. Rarely would they get the kind of damaging wind in Poland that we regularly get here. Maybe a small part of Poland on their eastern Baltic coast near the Russian border.

You've obviously no experience of the winds off the tatras or the minus figures they get in winter.

The country might be jacked but the building trade isn't yet, back to the days of them being busy, poor service and the take it or leave it attitude.

I've found -snip- to be the best value here. And maybe we were lucky but we found them great to deal with
