Ash Pan Air Tight Stove

I have a Lotus Liva stove for over 13years. This is air tight stove. But the ash pan seal/rope is gone. I tried replacing with ordinary stove rope. But this does not seal, most likely there is not enough force to compress the rope to seal the ash pan. Unlike the door which is squeezed closed. The original was more of a foam strip around 5mmX5mm.

Has anyone come across this foam strip and if so where you can you get it. I have e mailed the company a couple of times, but no good, no answer.

The thing is there is more than one size of stove rope.

But as you say there is also a strip which also comes in various sizes

I will try the strips, they look like what was there. The ropes are just too thick and cant form a seal. Thanks again

On my stove the ash pan seal looks like woven tube that can squash to make a seal.
