Replacing gas heated shower with electric

I've just bought a new house down a few doors from my parents. The new house is structurally the same as my parents house.

They bought a Triton electric shower months ago for the en-suite. However, the shower in ensuite is not electric and heated by the boiler which I understand is heated by gas boiler that provides heating to the radiators.

They want to replace the above shower with the Triton electric shower. I would be looking to get the same replaced but probably a different electric shower.

They asked an electrician when they were getting electrical work done a months ago and he said we would need to get a plumber to look at it first.

So do we need a plumber to remove old shower and then electrician to install new shower?

Would anybody have any idea if this is a big job and how much I should expect it to cost?
