Hi I have been approved finance on a used car on other side of country and have paid deposit car looks immaculate and many video tour of cars were sent to me.
Car is being delivered during week I have signed nothing yet.
I'm just wondering where I stand legally if car delivered isn't as in videos or I am unhappy with it.
I'm allowed to look and test drive car upon delivery before singing?
Is it mine since I paid the finance deposit already or not my problem untill I sign the papers upon delivery.
Thankyou its an awkward time buying cars and this is my first car from a dealership.

*apologies for typo in thread title

Are they going to get you to sign the documents at the time of delivery?

Well then make sure you examine the car thoroughly before signing on the dotted line. BTW I think with most finance packages there is a cooling off period. I think it's 14 days and rejecting the car for a legitimate reason such as it not being as described would fall under that. It's worth having a read of the small print of your finance agreement before signing it. It's also worth ringing the finance company and ask them to explain the terms over the phone to you before delivery takes place so that you are fully versed on what you are signing up to.

I would be HYPER careful here .Its human nature to be too polite to reject in this situation.I remember once being delivered a car after major bodywork repair and having to reject it .its VERY hard to get a real impression of car from pics and video .So many ads show apparently mint cars which on inspection are rubbish .Freshly hosed/washed cars are especially notorious to judge .Id say some dealers are taking advantage of Cov19 to deliver sub standard cars and some of them wouldnt be shy about pressuring youi to keep them .Once they have your money ...forget about any comeback.

Nice car, I was actually looking at that on carsireland a few days ago, lovel car, garage is okay also.

For your own peace of mind do a reg check via Cartell or Mywheels for vehicle history/ status/ finance etc
