Stage 5 of the Vuelta, up and down but a descent into flat finish:

    Climbs:

The finish is uphill, 550 meters at 7.5% by my calculations.

Thankfully he'll get the same time due to the 3km rule.

Same time as Roglic? He took a few seconds there at the line.

Not sure how it works tbh, worst case he ships a few seconds to Roglic.

If there’s going to be an unfortunate crash, Dan’ll find it! A pity. Would have fancied him to stick with Roglic on that finish and form.

looks like roglic came across the front of the movistar rider, causing the crash. DQS!! LOL

It didn't look like Dan had any obvious injuries so that's the main thing

still no decision... i would imagine they would have to give the full group the same time as roglic.

Aye given Roglic caused the crash that would be the fairest outcome, you'd think!

Lost 4 seconds to roglic apparently

ISN have said on twitter that Rog is now 9seconds up on Dan.

How that can happen is beyond me. Does the 3kmthingnot apply at the Vuelta?

The official website gives Dan the same time as Roglic in the GC after Stage 5:

it does, but they are probably saying that the group dan was with finished 4 seconds behind roglic, so he gets that time a la carapez et al. It's a bit sh1tty given roglic caused the crash, and arguably did away with people who would have kept no gap. But that's racing.

edit - team jumbo visma have dan 5 seconds behind roglic, with carapaz at 17 seconds, so looks like they gave dan the same time as roglic, and the rest down 4 seconds.

    who knows!

cycling news now reporting, roglic not given the gap, and dan given same time as the bunch, so it looks like it remain as you were!

I'd go with the official website, it took an age to update while the commissaires debated, so hopefully Dan remains 5 seconds behind Roglic.
