I am looking online but it’s all very confusing what are the main differences between these two models?
Also is there a electric hand brake in the K3.

In your opinion is the k3 worth the few extra thousands?

Apparently all the garages are now also closed til December.

    Kind regards

    17” vs 16” alloys
    Tinted rear windows
    Black grille
Option of a panoramic roof for €1000 (well worth it)
    Lane assist
    Speed camera recognition
    Front and rear heated seats
Satnav built in, not sure if CarPlay/android auto is only on the K3
Leather seats (far as I know)
    Electronic handbrake

I think the Sportage looks gammy on the 16” wheels, and the seats are nicer on the K3. You’re the one buying it but it’s only €3k.

The Sportage and it's sister car the Hyundai Tucson are getting pretty old now and new versions of both are arriving in 2021 if that bothers you.

If your happy to buy the current model then I'd stretch to the K3 if you can, you may not get all your 3k back when you go to sell it but it will sell easier than a lower spec version. People are alot fussier around spec these days than they used to be.

depending on how tall you are the panoramic sunroof takes a bit of headroom away, so try it out first

You’d want to be very tall!

Thank you all. Is the new version available in January 2021?
That’s very clear, I was so confused looking at the website for ages.
I am going with the k3. Sadly I am a shortie!!

    Kind regards

Be a bit careful with what you are actually buying OP. There are some Sportage models floating around as K3's which aren't actually K3's...

Due to stock shortages, some models came in to Ireland that were destined for another RHD market - Cyprus possibly, so were a totally different specification than Irish versions. Closer to K2 spec than K3, so had leather (and possibly upgraded wheels) retro fitted to bring them close to K3 spec, but still missing some bits.

As far as I'm aware, there are only Flame Blue and Infra Red K3 (proper Irish K3) models available from current stock - non are the SR version though (so no sunroof) and probably won't be any more until the facelift arrives next year. Not sure on Kia, but Hyundai's refreshed models are due mid/late Feb, so Kia will probably be roughly the same time.

K2 & K3 both have Android Auto/Apple CarPlay standard. Main difference is the wheels and the K3 has the 2 tone leather interior.

Hard to figure out what are current (NEDC) emissions and what are WLTP emissions, but from what I've found, there will be around €500 increase between registration this year and next year.

Other alternative to look at in a vehicle this size would be the Skoda Karoq 1.6Tdi. Plenty available from stock in different colours. Style spec is the one to go for - very similar standard equipment levels to the K3 Sportage, except the heated leather seats, but much nicer alloys on the Skoda. That's due to increase by around €1,500 for reg next year.

The new Sportage is not due out untill 2022 as they are normally a year behind Hyundai.
The new Tuscon on the other hand is out now.
The heated seats in the Sportage are lovely.

Hope you got a nice K3 Spec one. Maybe your next one will be the new model in a few years if all goes well. Well wear anyway.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.
