Wireless Keyboard, TV & TV stick problem...

Pardon my ignorance on this. I have a smart TV, a MiTV stick (TV had terrible built in app store) and a wireless keyboard. MiTV stick is in hdmi 1, the wee receiver for the keyboard is in a usb. MiTV stick is in hdmi 1, the wee receiver for the keyboard is in a usb. I can use the keyboard no problem with the TV, but not the stick. I know if I'd bought a stick with a usb port built in, I could have put the receiver directly into it and used the keyboard, but is there some wizardry I can perform that will sort of 'share' the keyboard with hdmi 1 so I can use it on both the TV and the stick?

Again, apologies if this is a dumb question.
