Laying Laminate in room with alcove - Where to Start?

    It's a rectangular room with ~1 m2 rectangular alcove/bay window at one end.
    See brilliant artwork in the attached.

    Is there any 'best practice' or preferred approach to this shape. Or does it matter beyond personal taste?

    In all cases I would be laying the planks 'vertically' (with respect to the drawing) towards the far end of the room .

    I was going to start at A and make the L-Shaped cuts at C and D as needed. Probably a long cut at E.

    Then I thought maybe I should start a B. Still have to make an L cut at D and long cuts at A & E.

    Another approach is to start at A and ignore the alcove and do that separately afterwards. But, I'm not sure if the subsequent 'line' at CD and all the short cuts in the alcove would make for an eyesore.

    How would you do it?

    Start at A working toward E with L shaped cuts at C and D as needed as in your first suggestion.
    However lay out the room before hand as perhaps best to start with a long cut at A so as to leave as full a board as possible at A, C, D & E. Also plan the room whether to stagger boards every 2nd or 3rd row (personally prefer 3rd as it doesn't look so repetitious) so may be best to start with a half/third board so as not to leave even smaller boards on any perimeter wall.

    Thanks. Some good tips there. I'm still waiting for the floor to be delivered....bloody Level 5.

    I had planned to stagger ever other row of course but now you have me thinking about every 3rd row. Scope creep.....I get enough of that at work!
