Oil change info on Vauxhall Insignia

Recently bought a vauxhall insignia 2.0Ltr diesel from a dealer and have noticed in the last couple of weeks that the oil life is nearing 0% (currently is 4%). This information is within the info section of the driver information centre on the dash.

There is no oil light showing, I dipped it also and level looks to be ok. Should I be getting an oil change based on the info I can see?

I've seen online also that this can be manually reset to 100% using the buttons on the steering wheel (pressing the right arrow button to bring up reset from the menu) but for some reason it doesn't allow mine to be reset to 100%.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this on the opel insignia? Be handy to avoid getting a service, additional cost if its not necessary

    Cheers in advance

When was car last serviced? If you don't know, it's time.

Don't assume it was serviced by the dealer before you bought it.

Definitely change the oil when the oil life indicator tells you so. I would service it yearly even when doing low mileage.

Also, there is a common issues with these engines, a seal in the oil pump that go bad, so if you don't replace it as a precaution at least ask for an oil pressure test if the car is older than ~4years or has more than 100k on the clock.
