    Hi All,

Just wondering if any of the providers in this country have a 4G router product that comes with a static public IP address. I have tried Three and Vodafone and they say that it is not possible with their routers.

    thanks,

99 times in 100 a static can be replaced with a hostname and DNS updates. Are you sure you need a static public?

I know what you're saying Ed, but this would be for a VPN connection so I wouldn't be happy implementing any solution based on dynamic dns. The bar at the moment is set to only use broadband services that allow you to have a static public IP address.

I would call that security theatre not security but each to their own.

It's not a security issue, it's more of an issue with possibly having to resolve issues with the dynamic dns. I have one of those routers at home I might just try it with that.
