    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to work from home in Dublin for a Dutch company that has no presence in Ireland ? Can they simply treat me as a Dutch employee and pay income tax etc. to the Dutch revenue, or would they have to set up some sort of Irish entity to pay income tax etc to the Irish revenue and if so how onerous would this be for them ?

    Thanks,

    Usjes.

You need to pay income tax where you are resident.

The simplest solution is you invoice them and they pay you. The tax is then up to you.

It all depends on your salary, but probably you need to create a limited company.

It also depends on the nature of the work and whether it would create a 'permanent establishment' for the company.
This would potentially create a tax liability in Ireland for the company.

I am in similar situation for past 5 years. Easy way is for them to register as an employer with Irish revenue. Not difficult to do. You then have all the benefits and disadvantages of Irish tax and social welfare and pension system.
