Air Pods with a Pixel 3a

Hi guys, Air pods pair fine with my android phone (Pixel 3a). But the only controls that work on the air pods is the double tap to pause. Is there any way to get the gestures working to skip songs etc.?

I believe that if you set up gestures on an Apple device first, they'll continue to work on an android device.

Figured this out by pairing with a macbook and setting them up that way. Worked great.
