being laid off for misconduct

    Hi eveyrone,

I think I might get laid for misconduct, for unfair reasons. I want to leave the company anyway as I've witnessed and acted against so many issues ranging from inapropriate behavior to compliance issues with data protection, outright racism etc etc...

So since I don't want to stay I don't want to fight against an unfair dismissal, just want to move on and find a new job.

My question is the following though, I just found out that if I get laid off for misconduuct I couldn't not get on jobseekers for 9 weeks, which like most people I couldn't afford.
Can I claim supplemetary welfare allowance if I'm laid off for misconduct, for those 9 weeks (hopefully won't need to claim for 9 weeks...)

    Thanks

If you feel the need to leave, you can claim you had to leave because of bullying and this can be used as a reason when you are applying for welfare.

They usually don't ask you for evidence, but you just need to state the reasons for the bullying in your application.

Tell Soclal Welfare that your dismissal is under appeal. They'll most likely waive the 9w.

    Need more info.

What kind of misconduct are you talking about and for what reason do you think you will be go?

And please don’t take the poor advice and say you left because of bullying if you were not.

You may not be let off but if you are unhappy start looking around for jobs ASAP if you plan on leaving, in my experience it always seems easier to get a new job while you are still in one.

It's worth contesting it. If you've witnessed that many issues, find the relevant authority and play the whistleblower card.
